  • Petroglyph National Monument is a natural, volcanic rock slope that shapes the city’s western vista. Featuring more than 20,000 prehistoric carvings, the boulders make up one of the largest petroglyph sites in North America and offer an incredible representation of those who traveled through and lived in the Rio Grande Valley.
  • The Albuquerque Museum of Art and History includes three permanent exhibits dedicated to the art and artifacts of the American Southwest. Conquistador armoire, weavings, early maps and an amazing collection portrays colonial life in New Mexico. A range of changing exhibits offer art from across the globe.
  • The International Balloon Fiesta happens every October, draws spectators from all over and is the largest balloon festival in the world. Every morning, for five straight days, over 500 hot air balloons in a rainbow of colors rise above the city and soar across the blue sky.
  • San Felipe de Neri Church dates back to 1793. Located on the northside of Old Town Plaza, this historic Catholic Church is one of the oldest buildings in Albuquerque and the only structure in Old Town constructed during the Spanish colonial period. A rectory, a convent, a school and a small museum displaying religious art and artifacts are open to the public.
  • Stretching from the northeast border of Albuquerque to the Sandia Mountains cresline, Sandia peak Tramway offers a 2.7 mile ride and stunning views of the city, deep canyons and incredible landscape of the mountains within the Cibola National Forest. The longest aerial tramway in the US, it takes you to an observation deck at Sandia Peak for panoramic views and offers exceptional hiking and biking trails.
